Commemoration
Commemoration at Yad La-Shiryon lies at the heart of the site and the Association’s work.
It connects personal and national remembrance, the names and stories of the fallen, and the enduring commitment to bereaved families, soldiers, visitors and future generations.
Guided by the belief that remembrance should remain alive, Yad La-Shiryon works to preserve the legacy of the fallen, maintain an ongoing connection with bereaved families, and give every visitor an opportunity to pause, pay tribute and discover the stories of those who fell in Israel’s wars and during their military service.

The Wall of Names
The Wall of Names is the central memorial at Yad La-Shiryon.
The silver metal panels bear the names of the fallen soldiers of Israel’s Armored Corps, from the War of Independence to the present day, who fell in Israel’s wars or during their military service.
The names appear without rank, expressing the equality of all the fallen in remembrance and grief.
The plaza in front of the Wall hosts memorial ceremonies, military unit ceremonies and commemorative events, inviting visitors, families, soldiers and students to pay tribute to the fallen.
Casualty Affairs Department
The Armored Corps Casualty Affairs Department works to maintain contact with bereaved families and support them during the first years following the loss of their loved ones.
The Department’s work reflects the Corps’ enduring commitment to bereaved families and to honoring the memory of the fallen.
Throughout the year, memorial ceremonies, remembrance gatherings and activities for families are held, and assistance is provided in coordinating annual memorial services.
The Department also provides information and support to families, orphans, bereaved siblings, wounded soldiers and disabled veterans of the Armored Corps.
