Guided Tours at Yad La-Shiryon
A guided journey through the history, heritage and story of Israel’s Armored Corps
Tours at Yad La-Shiryon are led by soldiers and volunteers who have been trained as site guides. Each tour is adapted to the participants’ ages, the nature of the group and the purpose of the visit.
Tours are conducted in Hebrew. With advance coordination and subject to guide availability, tours may also be available in English.
The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and takes visitors through the site’s main points of interest. It also includes an impressive audiovisual presentation projected across nine screens. During the visit, participants discover the story of the Latrun region through the ages, from biblical times and the periods of the Maccabees, Crusaders, Ottomans and the British Mandate to the battles for the road to Jerusalem during Israel’s War of Independence, the capture of Latrun during the Six-Day War and the subsequent development of the area.
Groups visiting the site are also invited to include a wreath-laying ceremony at the foot of the Wall of Names, which bears the names of the fallen soldiers of Israel’s Armored Corps. The ceremony is led by soldiers and lasts approximately 15 minutes.
