Educational activities for groups, children and teenagers
An educational experience that connects heritage, history, values, and commemoration
Yad La-Shiryon is a unique educational and historical site where the past, present and future come together. A visit to the site offers an active learning experience that takes visitors through places, stories, battles, historical figures, armored fighting vehicles and heritage landmarks that have shaped the State of Israel and Israeli society.
Alongside its role as the principal memorial site for the fallen soldiers of Israel’s Armored Corps, Yad La-Shiryon is guided by the concept of “active remembrance”:
It is not only a place of remembrance and ceremonies, but also a vibrant setting that welcomes visitors every day for learning, activities, gatherings and events, while fostering a connection to the values of responsibility, leadership, camaraderie and service.
Activities for children and youth generally last two to three hours and may include a guided tour, a wreath-laying ceremony at the foot of the Wall of Names and additional activities based on the group’s preferences.
The site’s location in Latrun, overlooking the Ayalon Valley and the Judean Foothills, adds another dimension of nature, landscape and history to the learning experience.
